r u using nurbs or polygon, whatever it is just simply duplicate it and in channel box just change the scale it -1(it will be 1 there).change the values in different(scaleX,scaleY,scaleZ) axes until u get ur desired pose. remember scale value should be strictly either1 or -1.

I’m having troubles using Maya 3D designing software…?

I’m having major troubles with using Maya…I’ve just started using it so I really don’t know how to use it. So far, I’ve created half of my character and now I need to somehow create the other half…there is an icon with “reflect geometry over an axis” but I do not know I to use it and it doesn’t work. How do you create the other half of what you’ve created so far so that it is a mirror image of the current one? (so for example, let’s say I’ve created a half of a face. There is a technique where you create the other half of the face and you merge those two together to create a complete face…how do you do this?)

What is the most complex maths which is require in programming? i mean like lets say Software engineering / 3D etc, not programming which is specially focused on maths.

I found the most useful to be geometry because it teaches problem solving. This helps you to write code in a logical manner. Knowledge of number systems, base 2 and base 16 (hex), is very important. The other course I found extremely useful was Logic, which is sometimes taught in the Philosophy Dept. It’s the core of Boolean Arithmetic. I disagree about having to know Calculus. I did terrible in that class and make a great living programming.Unless you’re dealing in a very specialized field, you won’t need it.
IMO One thing that is overlooked is database design. Most programs need to interact with a data base and most programmers I know need to have a solid understanding of relational databases and how to extract the data required for their application.

I’m an illustrator and would love to learn how to do 3D modeling. But I am a bit afraid of geometry and math. I see software tutorials with all the buttons and vertices and meshes, and lines, and angles..and it makes me scared haha. Is this going to be very hard to learn?
